In 1997, Kamalathasan was displaced from Jaffna to Poonakari Jeyapuram. He got a chance to operate a film role camera there by a cinematographer, Mahenthiran (Tharsika Studio). Then he went to India and learnt more about photography, animation and visual effects. In 2002, he served as a teacher in IT solutions in Colombo and in 2003, he completed Graphics designing & Photography courses in Saito College & Malaysia Chinese College. In 2006, went again to India and worked in Indian film industry for 12 years and obtained great experiences. Now, again serving our country from Jaffna as a photography teacher and the director of AK Kamal Photography.
Beyond a photographer, Kamal Anna is a good human being. You cannot have a single moment with Kamal anna without his signature smile on his face. He is skilled, equipped and resourced to the task. He is THE BEST.
